Summary

Assists with the operations of the city central fleet and warehouse operations, including receiving, unloading, issuing stock, and assisting with ordering materials and supplies, maintaining related records, and delivering supplies.

20 hours or less per week, Monday - Friday, daily hours are flexible. The pay rate for this position is $15.00 per hour.

You must be at least 18 years old to be considered for this position. Must have a valid Texas driver's license.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists with maintaining inventory of city materials and supplies, including ensuring that appropriate levels of inventory items are consistently in stock;
  • Sorts and places materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Marks materials with identifying information;
  • Maintains a clean and orderly warehouse and warehouse grounds with special attention to stock rotation, par levels and shelving arrangement;
  • Receives all ordered materials and supplies, verifies that invoice matches items received and ordered, and stocks received goods in appropriate warehouse areas, including operating forklift to unload received materials and supplies;
  • Issues materials, and supplies to city departments, and delivers products when necessary;
  • Routinely checks fleet inventory, including maintaining hours/miles log, scheduling fleet units for rental, cleaning, and performing minor maintenance and repairs when needed;
  • Promotes positive relationship with all City departments and maintains effective working relationships with City personnel;
  • Assists with GOVDEALS auctions for items by compiling information such as descriptions and pictures of items that are deemed surplus;
  • Assists with annual warehouse inventory count in connection with City's annual audit;
  • Acts as daily warehouse operations backup for Inventory and Central Fleet Coordinator; and
  • Operates various equipment, including forklift, lawn mower, and other miscellaneous fleet equipment.

This is a non-supervisory position.

Education and/or Experience

High school graduation or its equivalent.

Knowledge Of

Basic bookkeeping principles and practices; inventory management principles and procedures; computers; and standard office practices and procedures.

Skill/Ability To

Operate computers, including proficiency in standard Microsoft Word and Excel; establish and maintain effective working relationships; communicate effectively; read and understand manuals and other documents; and perform basic mathematical calculations, such as counting and making change.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid Texas driver's license. Must be at a minimum of 18 years of age.
