Description

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing the flow of materials between incoming receiving, the stockroom, and production work cells. This individual will be required to support many parallel tasks in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment, communicating frequently with cross-functional teams to anticipate inventory needs and stay ahead of ready. This position requires critical thinking, excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the frequent use of basic math.

  • Document material & supply disposition.
  • Update digital shortage tracker daily, monitoring part status and supplier due dates.
  • Ensure the continuity of in-process inventory at production work cells.
  • Issue any short materials to the production work cells based on schedule needs.
  • Deliver completed kits to assembly team staging areas.
  • Assist employees with requests at stockroom door.
  • Maintain stock boxes and labels; update physical and digital inventory records.
  • Help put newly received items into stock.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing on shelf life material needs and other shortages as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining an overall accurate and organized inventory system.
  • Handle parts, products, and equipment properly to assure maximum value.
  • All other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required.
  • 2+ years of related experience (e.g. administrative, inventory, etc.). Prior inventory experience is a plus.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and general computer use.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
  • Ability to strategically adapt workflow to support team needs in a fluid manufacturing environment (i.e. stay agile). 
  • Proficient with basic numerical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
