Blue Bell Creameries is seeking a Health Benefits Associate for the Brenham, TX facility.
Summary / Position Description
The Health Benefits Associate position is newly created to support the Department Supervisor in the Health Benefits department. The role is responsible for assisting with health plan administration and performing a variety of tasks related to health claims, health provider interactions, and employee inquiries. The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist plan participants and medical providers with the pre‑approval process for medical services and procedures.
- Facilitate the appeal process by coordinating with plan participants and medical providers.
- Request, track, and process refunds from medical providers.
- Coordinate subrogation of claims with participants, providers, and third‑party payers.
- Perform audits of other insurance coverage and maintain accurate documentation.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- High level of confidence in learning new computer programs and systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- General knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
